Shelley Silverlight comes to Samarra Faux Painting from St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. With a fine arts degree and over thirty years of experience in the art and design field, she specializes in gold leafing, hand scripting, and embellished stenciling. Included in her artist's bag of tricks are custom art furniture pieces and glass and tile mosaic works.
Shelley grew up in a family of artists and inventors. She attended the New England School of Art and El Camino College in California. Shelley has worked as a jewelry designer and goldsmith and started her own company, Silverlight Ornamental Metalworks in 1991. Her designs are influenced by ancient cultures. She incorporates silver, brass, copper and found objects into her jewelry and sculpture. Shelley’s work has been featured in art shows and auctions across the country and the Caribbean.
